Testing Space at Pyramid

Press release & Image from Culture Warrington

New Exhibition at Pyramid
Cross Street Arts: Testing Space
2 May – 11 July 2015

Cross Street Arts is an established group of professional artists based in Standish, North Wigan. A selection of members of the group were invited to create site specific work responding to the gallery in Pyramid.

Testing Space reflects their interest in producing work that engages with this space. Through a mixture of large and small-scale sculptural works, installations and time based media they comment on the architectural aspects of the building and the gallery itself, whilst also responding to the history of the site and its surroundings.

This exhibition offers an insight into the diversity of the artists’ chosen subject matter and working practices. Their aim is to create a conversation between the site, the materials and the audience.

Featuring work from Andrea Lowe, Anna FC Smith, Chel Logan, Jane Fairhurst, Kat Button, Maria Walker and Paula Fenwick Lewis
