I was born in Wigan, Lancashire, this unique northern, industrial urban place has had a profound influence on how I see aspects of life. I am interested in the beauty, landscape and water especially canal, moorland and the sea. The history of the people and their way of life formed from the surroundings is part of the story of this landscape. The all-pervasive scourges of dereliction, industrial architecture and pollution which fuel my imagination and creativity. In my expressionist art I paint with recycled plastic cards to convey an ephemeral and fragile sublimity.
