My artwork focuses on the shapes people make and how those shapes become maps. Maps are pictures; by adding, removing or changing a road or a path or a tree, humans are able to change the composition of these pictures. I use colour, marks and line to represent my feelings and memories of a particular place or space. Artwork is created using mixed media collage techniques.
I studied Embroidery at MMU, graduating in 1994. Subsequent years of travel and teaching have allowed me to explore different media, techniques and ideas. I am currently very happy combining developing new artwork with an Art Residency at My Life, Wigan.
