In a culture where exhaustion is seen as a status symbol, and experiences are rewarded with immediate results, when do we ever take the time, to be mindful and reflective of the present moment?

Roslyn Ashcroft aims to create a sense of slowness, through public participatory performances. As a reaction against a fast pace, technology driven, burnout society.

Her recent exhibition ‘Doodles in the Sand’ invited an audience to make marks in the sand using her hand-crafted tools. Playing with notions of mindfulness through process and object interaction. And calmness towards creativity, through the impermanence of mark-making in the sand.
