Theo Major: Walking on Fire

December 6 @ 18:30 - 21:00

Cross Street Arts invites you to Theo Major: Walking on Fire

Join us for an illuminating talk by renowned art historian Michael Howard as he delves into the life and work of Wigan-born artist Theodore Major. Known for his powerful and gritty portrayals of Northern England, Major’s work captures the raw beauty of industrial landscapes and the emotional depth of working-class life. Howard, a respected expert in British art, will explore the influences behind Major’s evocative style and his place within the broader art movement of the 20th century. This event is a rare opportunity to gain insight into one of the North’s most compelling yet underappreciated artists. Don’t miss this chance to deepen your appreciation for Major’s bold, haunting legacy.

Doors open from 6.30pm for hot drinks and conversation. The talk will start at 7pm and run for about an hour. There will be time for Q&A and conversation afterwards.
