'A Buffet of Mortification' is new exhibition by Anna FC Smith explores the theatre and spectacle of punishment and order. Inspired by items in the Museum’s collections and Warrington’s connections with John Howard and his publication The State of The Prisons of England and Wales, Smith has researched public punishments in Warrington and created new work that references the courtroom through the use of ceramic chickens and rodents, playing out the actions of humans.
