We have plants in common – an exhibition of artwork by Angelica Vanasse

Sept 2026 – Sept 2027

It’s a honour to be able to share my artwork at Cedar Farm over the next year through an installation on display in The Barn. This is an evolving seasonal installation created in collaboration with plants. This exhibition will grow and change in harmony with the seasons and plants. You’ll be able to see plant paintings on textiles, risograph prints that journey through the wheel of the year, drawings of plants and other processes that emerge through the months ahead.

Exhibition dates: September 2026 – September 2027

Address: Cedar Farm, Back Ln, Mawdesley, Ormskirk L40 3SY

Opening hours: Tuesday – Sunday, 10am – 5pm

About the artist & artwork

Born in the US, now living and working in the UK, Vanasse’s wide reaching and multi-disciplinary practice is rooted in collaboration, the abundance of nature and an exploration of joy along the way. Working with different people and moving to various places to do so, she poses the question throughout her dynamic oeuvre, “What connects us to the living world and to each other?”, and concludes, “we have plants in common”.

Plants shelter us and nourish us. They generously provide food that sustains us and cleverly create a landscape that wraps protectively around us offering constant inspiration. Vanasse is highly attuned to the intricate cycle of life and to change wafted in by the seasons. She seeks to grab hold of the fleeting, to feel the shifting breeze and to imprint the beautiful patterns of plants using a highly inventive and varied toolkit, which includes drawing, photography, sculpture, textiles, botanical dying techniques, printmaking and foraging.

In honour of the rich, diverse and ever flowing fabric of nature, Vanasse points others towards the rhythm of growth and circular energy that she depicts in her art and lives by in day to day activities. Within traditional exhibition hangs, educational settings, immersive/ interactive environments, and even in her own kitchen, she playfully suggests – and offers starting points to help – that her audience do not delay, that they fully inhale the day ahead and make connections with every living element.

Opening celebration!

📅 Save the date! The opening celebration is happening on Saturday Oct 24 from 6-9pm (it’s a good excuse to come early and explore Cedar Farm and have a bite to eat before the creative celebration, snacks & drinks happen!)
