Angelica Vanasse is an American multi-discipline visual and participatory artist, art education specialist, permaculture designer and cultural engagement consultant. She shapes and activates creative projects the Northwest in a variety of community, cultural and educational settings. She has created welcoming, inspiring and transformative spaces, resources and experiences for thousands of people to explore over her 25 year career, working both within cultural organizations in strategic roles and in hands-on artistic roles as a freelance practitioner.  She is currently the lead artist on the Borough of Joy project across Wigan & Leigh as part of Down to Earth’s community programme.

Angelica’s wide reaching and multi-disciplinary practice is rooted in collaboration, the abundance of nature and an exploration of joy along the way. Her creative toolkit contains materials and processes that enable her to record and share journeys and weave spaces for connection, change & seasonal cycles. This includes drawing, photography, botanical dye processes, printmaking, photography, risography, site-specific installation, ephemeral sculptures, growing/foraging/making and sharing food and celebratory gatherings that build community.
